The gratitude is more than human sentiment, more than an expression. It is not like a reflected condition of the inferior being, is rather an intelligent spirit, in which it evaluates not only the cold benefit received, but also the whole process that motivates to reach the final moment. Only the men and women made to the image and resemblance of God are capable of reasoning, thinking and analyzing the circumstances of an action, to then form judgement and give “complete thanks”, deeply valuing the entire plot, form and shape of the action. The word “gracias”, meaning thank you, comes from the Latin -gratia-, which in turn is derived from -gratus-, equally to pleasant and grateful that also originate from -gratia-, which in Latin means to honor or praise that without more, tributes to the recognition of a favor of someone. In other acceptances, it is understood as “to praise aloud”, even so to give canticles to please and congratulate the grantor of any favor or benefit. In addition to this, to be grateful means to give our time and spaces, it is to be happy when being grateful.

Truly recognizing an undeserving gift, so special or singular, it’s difficult to forget it every day of my existence. To all this let’s think: Who is the being that from their bottom of their soul can deeply be wisely grateful to the one who made everything, the all-knowing, He who weighs the intentions of the heart, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end? Only those that by faith have been revealed the mysteries and depths of His greatness. But before the indifference of the almighty God’s creatures, His discomfort will be toward those ungrateful beings that don’t even thank Him nor recognized Him as the only one who deserves glory, honor, and praise. And not just by words, but by created actions that testify to His power and deity; and His word says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath shown it unto them. For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead… For when they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God, NOR WERE THANKFUL, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Ro 18-22).

Why are we not grateful? The answer is crystal clear. Mankind through the satanic work of deception takes all
occasion of power for himself and accepts “to be like God”, limits all the rights to to other glories, clogging his mind and heart. Searching inside of himself all the explanation of his existence and in this self-delusion, he is betrayed by his intellect, in which, that everyday that passes, feeds and satisfies with relevant success, like it is the science, which it does not create, but partially analyses the facts inherent in their problematic environment. However, his self-admiration, elevates him to planes of much pride that displaces the Creator of his life, and in such condition we find ourselves, every day more, with deteriorated societies, which in turn leads to the destruction of all humanity. How easy would have been by only “GIVING THANKS”, accepting the sovereignty of the eternal God in our lives and our fate would have been different.

Today, however, after various millenniums that God had hidden from men, emerges again through Jesus Christ and his sacrificial and redemptive works, give the opportunity to recognize something big; and with the help of the Paraclete give “THANKS” with all the heart, soul and body, since there is no other offering that God may receive in His condition of Spirit: “With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Mi.6:6-8).

And the fact of being grateful, is truly a superlative degree of humility, when this real and taken in deeply. Dear brothers and sisters, let us give thanks to God always, in each and every circumstances of our daily lives, knowing that he is greatly good and merciful and that our lives is in His hands. And Lord: today I want to give you THANKS, AND MORE THANKS and eternally ONLY THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU…! Receive this offer, because everything that I am, I owe it to You. Amen and Amen.
