“…I assure you: if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you tell this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, it will be done.” (Mat.21:21). We live in the age most alarming and difficult in terms of true faith of the almighty God, the creator, the giver of life and sustainer of all things. What has happened? Since the beginning of mankind’s history in Eden, Satan (the adversary) managed to sow the essence of his spirit, as it is the doubt, maliciously he said, “…Did God really say, You can’t eat from any tree in the garden? (…) No! you will not die, In fact, God Knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God knowing good and evil” (Gn.3:1-5). From there on, humanity could no longer believe anything that God said, due to the doubt in their hearts. Of course, later on this had its exceptions, such as Abel, Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, etc. Read Hebrews 11; where those, whose actions demonstrate, the manifestation and power of God, were able to believe like children. The doubt was, is and will continue to be the undisputed reason for the moral and spiritual deterioration of mankind. God, as the only good being, has always thought in our well- being, by always doing good to us, saving us and giving us inheritance in the heavens, his unshakable Kingdom, His word says, “For I know the plans I have for you, this is the Lord’s declaration, plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jr.29:11). Who wholeheartedly believes this? Oh God, help us in believing! Israel itself, being in the desert, in the heat of the test and the diverse difficulties they expressed, “The people spoke against God, and Moses: Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness?” (Nm.21:5). It also says, “They spoke against God, saying, Is God able to provide food in the wilderness? Look! He struck the rock and water gushed out; torrents overflowed. But can He also provide bread or furnish meat for his people? (…) Because they did not believe God or rely on his salvation” (Ps.78:19-22). If doubt is seeded, how much can we allow, seeing and experiencing the power and greatness of God? The years of our Lord Jesus Christ on this earth were undisputedly glorious, being him , the author and consumer of the faith, brought a message, in which one is invited to believe in God and not to doubt any more, by saying, “Then Jesus said to him: If you can? Everything is possible to the one who believes” (Mt.9:23).

The Righteous Person needs faith

“For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith” (Rm. 1:17). “Now without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb.11:16). We can do infinite religious activities, construct majestic temples, travel the sea and the land to make proselytes, etc. But only by faith, we can do what is pleasing to our God. Like Jesus said, “The one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, because I always do what pleases him.” (Jn.8:29). One of the very important things that we as children of God be grateful, is the victory we can have over the things of this world, with its pleasure, delights, science, fame and apparent prosperity, in which is causing us grow every day more skeptical about the faith in God. The materialistic world is finishing the little of what remains. However, the only way to defeat the world is through faith; the infallible word says, “Because whatever has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith” (1Jn. 5:4). Well, my beloved readers, you see how necessary it is to pray to God to give us the true faith. The Lord’s disciples asked for an increase of their faith, Jesus saw that it was necessary that first they had it. Therefore, ask God with faith, not doubting anything, and for those who doubt: “…not expect to receive anything from the Lord” (Jms.1:6-7). Lord, tear those malignant doubts, just like children we want to believe in you, our God! Amen.
